Tasting with the Winemaker
About the Menu
This menu is designed for wine professionals, as well as for travelers who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the natural wines of Western Georgia—crafted from both well-known and lesser-known terroirs, and from local, endemic grape varieties. The tasting is hosted by the founder of Oda Family Winery, wine writer and essayist Keto Ninidze.
Alongside the tasting, Keto Ninidze will speak about the forgotten and unique traditions of viticulture and winemaking in Samegrelo, the distinctive characteristics of the wines presented, ongoing efforts to revive rare indigenous Megrelian grape varieties, and the role of Oda in the recent history of the region’s winemaking.
