    Wine Tasting with the Founder of Oda Family Marani 2023

    This menu is designed for the wine professional, as well as for the traveler who desires a deeper introduction to western Georgia’s familiar – or unfamiliar – terroirs through natural wines made from local endemic grape varieties. Tasting conducted by Oda Family Marani's founder, wine writer and essayist Keto Ninidze.

    Over the course of the wine tasting, Keto Ninidze will speak about Samegrelo’s unique and forgotten traditions of vineyard care and winemaking, the details of each of the wines presented, the process of reestablishing rare endemic grape varieties of Samegrelo, and the place of Oda Family Marani in the recent history of winemaking in Samegrelo.

    • Menu includes 6 wines (90 ml each);
    • Tour of the vineyard and marani included;
    • Length of tour and tasting – 1.5 hours;

    Prices:

    • 8-16 guests - 60 GEL (per person);
    • 3-7 guests - 70 GEL (per person);
    • 1 or 2 guests - 200 GEL (per group)
    • Discount is available to partner companies for groups of more than 15 guests.

    White
    1. Tsolikouri 2022. Dry, white. Lechkhumi, village Orbeli (Tsageri).
    Spontaneous fermentation and aging with no skin contact, in stainless steel vessel. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    2. Tsolikouri 2022. Samegrelo, village Chaburta (Martvili). 
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with no skin contact. Aged in kvevri for 7 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    Rosé
    3. Orbeluri Ojaleshi 2021. Dry, rosé. Lechkhumi, village Orbeli (Tsageri).
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with no skin contact. Aged in kvevri for 5 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    4. Naked Ojaleshi 2022. Dry, rosé. Samegrelo, village Targameuli (Martvili).
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with no skin contact. Aged in kvevri for 5 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    Red
    5. Dzelshavi 2021. Dry, red. Racha, village Bostana (Ambrolauri).
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with all skins. Aged in kvevri for 6 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    6. Orbeluri Ojaleshi 2022. Lechkhumi, village Orbeli (Tsageri). 
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with all skins. Aged in kvevri for 6 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.
